It's inevitable: any forum I go to I start a thread about Harry Potter. It's one of my many obsessions, and I can't keep quiet about it
Any other fans here? I can't wait for the new book to be released - only 12 days and counting!

Yup, I am a huge fan - I run The Muggles Guide over at
http://www.mugglesguide.com
I'm kind of dreading the last book, because I know that once it's in my hands, that's it, it's over, no more...

Nice site
I also help run a Harry Potter website
The Hogwarts Experience
I have mixed feelings too about book seven. On the one hand I'm so excited, because I've been with the series from the beginning, and in the fandom since 2000. But on the other hand I'm sad because it'll all be over.
And then there's the side of me that's petrified JKR's going to kill Harry/Ron/Hermione/Ginny

I'm a HUGE fan! I love Harry Potter. I'm going to go and see the 12:01 showing tonight and I can't wait. The book is coming out sooo soon, I can't wait to read that either. The night that I get it, I probably won't be able to put it down until I'm done with the book. Right now I'm rereading all the books in order so that I can be prepared for when the 7th book comes out! I'm on the Order of the Pheonix. I can't wait!

I'm going to see OotP tomorrow. I'm not so bothered about seeing the film as I am about getting the book though. I'm going to get the book at midnight, then will stay up reading all night - I did for HBP.

I've not read any Harry Potter books!
But I have all the movies on DVD, and I'm hooked so I'm looking forward to seeing whatever they do with the storyline, I guess.

I went to see OotP yesterday - it was great! I posted my thoughts on another forum, but here they are again. Warning - SPOILERS ahead!
-Loved the opening - I thought it set the tone about right for the rest of the film. Dudley and his gang were perfect, and chavs as well!
-The Dementor attack was good, although I'm a bit confused as to why Harry's patronus wasn't corpereal. Does he produce a corpereal one at that point in the book?
-The Order arriving to pick Harry up and the subsequent journey to Grimmauld Place was fun - Tonks and Kingsley looked great, and I loved how they showed almost immediately that Tonks could change her appearance, even if that wasn't explained.
-Grimmauld Place: not how I imagined it from the outside, but the inside was perfect. Creepy, dusty and eery, and the scene with the extendable ears was fun.
-Ministry of Magic - great. Not how I imagined it, but wonderfully realised nonetheless. I think we should have seen Percy at his trial, considering this sets up his going against the Weasley's however.
-Back to Hogwarts and the introduction of Luna was good, though I wish Ginny had been in the cart with them at that point.
-Umbridge! Imelda Staunton is THE perfect Umbridge, and we could tell that from the start.
-The section leading up to Christmas with organising the DA was good, though I didn't really get a sense of time passing. I liked the scene in the Hogs Head.
-The Kiss. Well, I don't like Cho so I didn't really like this bit. It was handled well though.
-The attack on Mr Weasley. It's a shame we didn't get to go to St. Mungo's, but it was explained well enough so that's OK.
-All of the parts with Umbridge and Trelawney, and putting up her educational decrees, getting rid of Dumbledore and the detentions were really good - she is just the perfect amount of sickly sweet on the surface but evil underneath.
-Fred and George's exit! Even though there was no swamp and no Peeves, I loved this part!
-Tricking Umbridge to go into the forest, Grawp and the centaurs - that was all good too. Speaking of Grawp, I thought he was great! So sweet when he gave Hermione that bell thing.
-The flight to the Ministry was great, and I loved the music at that part.
-The whole scene in the hall of prophecy was really creepy - the DE's in their masks are very scary looking. I LOVED how it was Ginny who sent the spell at the DE that made all the prophecies fall down. Oh and speaking of Ginny, I liked all the little glances she gave Harry whenever Cho was mentioned or near. I wish they'd included at least one of the scenes with Harry though (lucky you/chocolate in the library).
-The battle in the veil room was a bit too short, I thought. I think it could have been longer and more...desperate seeming.
-Sirius' death wasn't great, not sad at all.
-The posession in the atrium almost made me cry, when Harry went through his happy memories of his friends and parents to force Voldemort out. That was more poignant and sad than Sirius' death.
-The whole atrium scene was done very well IMO.
-Bellatrix! HBC was GREAT, even though she didn't have many lines. She looked insane!
-DD's office - where was CAPSLOCK!Harry? He should have thrown things around a bit!
-The ending - slightly cheesy but I've come to expect that from the films. It also kind of shows that Harry needs his friends, which is true.

Thanks for this review. I have not seen it yet, but plan to soon.
A question about the final book: JKR has admitted that 2 major characters will die. Any ideas?
I think Draco Malfoy, and Neville.

I am a fan of Harry Potter but I wouldn't say a major fan I have missed the last 2 films and the newest I am not going to watch until I have seen teh 2 I have missed, I don't read the books as I find watching the film easier to follow more.
I haven't seen or heard anything yet about who dies in the final book but I have a funny feeling that hagrid could be one of them, just a funny feeling but unsure of who else could die.
